Yobo's Ecstasy: Preface

In a very local setting deep in the village of Sheema, grew up two legends who would later become a tale for the entire village, I and my closest friend alias Yobo like we used to call him would later rise up to fill the two vacant legend positions.

Filled with desire and passion for music and deejaying, Yobo was unstoppable starting from day one. Collecting old radios, tapes from the rubbish, from these he would spend the whole morning in his fantasy "radio studio" playing the latest songs using his mouth. Chameleone's Dolotia..dolotia......a hit tune then had massive airplay on his station .
We used to enjoy this as we would sit and enjoy the jams played by Yobo

Yobo went to school just like the rest of us from primary one till senior four where Yobo's unending love for music could not allow him to continue with studies . The
Young lad started by playing music on school functions ,music Dance and Drama sessions ,Chapel choir but all that would have to wait as he landed a gig with one of the biggest clubs in town to play music and also deejay on special days like the notorious Wednesday Ladies Night .

Yobo became every girl's wish and every girl in the village wanted to have him as her love of life. To fit in the new celebrity society around the village, Yobo decides to treat his hair just like other celebrities he never wanted to be left behind.
Although this became a tiring moment for him and his mum_as she became bitter about his decision to plaint his hair.

Everyone was talking about Yobo, he was now a village tale of how he had turned into Amuyaye a word literally meaning "bad guy" present day Kiface.
This was sad for him because his parents had disowned him the very day he plaited his hair.

His parents had not supported him to achieve his dream ,it was like I was the only person who knew what Yobo was able to do,the capacity and potential with in him.
From there and then Yobo felt hated just like any other outcast in the village and resorted  to doing drugs, drinking heavily and enjoying the luxury of ladies as everylady wanted to have portion of him . Yobo contracted HIV and the last time I met him, I could hardly recognize him.

Sadly all he had dreamt of achieving had come to pass................To be continued
